In Visceral Manipulation: The Abdomen (VM1) students learn the models and theories of functional biomechanics as viewed from Barral’s innovative approach.

This involves learning manual skills to locate, evaluate and normalize primary areas of dysfunction within the abdominal cavity. Exploring the dynamics of motion and suspension in relation to organs, membranes and ligaments. Examining the relationship of organs and structural or neuromusculoskeletal dysfunction. Assessing the quality of functional activity and somatic structures as they relate to an overall pattern.

Incredible students, medical doctors, medical specialists, professors, traditional Chinese medicine practitioners, physiotherapists all wanting to learn new methods to help their patients.

When asking a gynaecologist why he is attending a course that involved manual therapy to the organ system, his reply was he wanted to help his patients.

China opened its lockdown restrictions in March 2023. What a pleasant surprise to see how Shanghai was thriving and the economy booming. China continues to catch up with the rest of the world by investing in skills and knowledge.

Visceral Manipulation: The Pelvis (VM3) studies the relationship between functional and structural mechanics of the pelvis. Students learn to identify and conduct Jean-Pierre Barral’s method of evaluation and treatment for the organ systems of the pelvic cavity, including the integration of the pelvic organs with the complex ligament systems of that body region.

They discover techniques for differentiating between somatic and visceral causes for pelvic and low back problems, and how to integrate the pelvic organs functional movement patterns.

They explore additional principles of direct and indirect approaches and their appropriate applications, and integrate the pelvis into the body with principles of Lines of Tension and Interrelationships.

Two classes of 60 students, 3 wonderful teaching assistants and a highly competent translator.

And embracing China’s shift towards a coffee culture with the exciting arrival of LAVAZZA in the Square.
